Description
The former Council Offices is a three-storey detached house with a four-window stone front, built with coursed stone and featuring later alterations. It has a hipped slate roof, wide plastered eaves, rubble stacks, cross brace plates, and freestone voussoirs. The building includes six- and twelve-pane sash windows with thin glazing bars set in plain reveals, and a splayed bay window on the ground floor to the left with sash glazing. To the right of the projecting rubble porch, which has a low pitched slate roof and boxed eaves, there is a blocked opening. The recessed boarded door has a two-paned fanlight above and plain reveals. The left side elevation features sash windows at the rear and a later brick lean-to. The right side elevation has modern facing, and there are various extensions at the rear.
