Description
The Terrace Walk, built in the 19th century, is an L-shaped pathway that extends approximately 80 meters south of the Tower, where it is supported by a high wall, and then continues east for about 60 meters. Constructed of rock-faced Cefn stone with ashlar dressings and ramped coping, the terrace features a flight of steps at the northern end that leads to a bridge east of Leighton Hall Tower. As the terrace continues south, it has five projections, one of which is splayed and includes stone steps, leading to an octagonal enclosure. In the center of this enclosure is an octagonal pedestal, and on the northeast side, there is another flight of steps. From this point, the terrace proceeds east in a zig-zag pattern, bordered on the south side by a low wall that has octagonal piers with moulded caps at either end, along with two flights of steps. The east-west section concludes at a second octagonal enclosure, which also contains a pedestal in the center and steps leading to the east and north.
