Description

Ty’n-y-Coed Farmhouse is a timber-framed house likely dating to the late 17th century, although it has undergone later reconstruction. The frame is box-framed with square panels and some arch bracing, filled with brick. It has a concrete tiled roof and a brick axial stack. A central, storeyed porch is built against the chimney, and the house originally comprised two rooms. Casement windows are present on the ground floor, and dormer windows are set into the roof at the first floor level. A lean-to is attached to the left-hand gable, and an outshut extends to the rear. These are both timber-framed and appear to be original features of the building.
