Description
Fulhurst Hall is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with later alterations. It features timber framing and brickwork that has been painted to resemble timber framing, topped with a tile roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. A rear wing completes a "T" shaped plan.
The entrance includes a part-glazed six-panel door with HL hinges, set within a doorcase that has external architraves. This is sheltered by a lightweight timber porch with a pitched roof, shaped bargeboards, and a finial, which is built off a low brick wall. Flanking the porch are single light flush casements, while the end bays have square bays with flush casements and tile hipped roofs. On the first floor, the windows are three-light slightly recessed casements with stone sills. The attic features three mid-slope gabled dormers with two-light flush casements. The wallplate of the original timber frame is visible at the eaves, and there are exposed timbers in the rear (north) gable. The east gable is painted to resemble timber framing, while the west gable has 20th-century brickwork.
Inside, the hall showcases ovolo and bevelled beams, exposed ceiling joists, an inglenook, four-panel doors with HL hinges, and wide boarded doors.
