Description

The barn at Glan Hafren is a 6 bay timber-framed agricultural building with a linear plan. It features a 4 bay barn from the 17th century, constructed with a box frame and square panels. The original wattle infill has been replaced with lap boarding. The barn has a steeply pitched slate roof, with haylofts on both sides of the threshing floor and a byre located underneath on the left side. Adjoining to the left is a similar lofted byre from the same period, which has been later converted into a stable.

Additionally, there is a stable at the extreme left, likely from the 18th century. This stable is also timber-framed with lap boarding and has a gentler roof pitch, featuring an entry in the gable end wall.
