Description
The barn at Hen-hafod is an early 17th-century structure that has undergone some later alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and a graded slate roof. This threshing barn consists of four framed bays, although the left bay has collapsed. There are full-height openings on both the left and right sides of the center, as well as an eaves hatch on the right. Inside, the framing is visible with square panels, three of which extend from the cill to the wall-plate. The roof is supported by a single-purlin design, with a queen-post truss located between the first and second bays from the left, and a queen-strut truss between the second and third bays. The truss between the third and fourth bays, along with the right end truss, could not be seen during the last survey in June 1986, as the two right bays were filled with hay at that time.
