Description

Pont-dol-goch Station is a single-storey building with an attached two-storey stationmaster's house located at the northwest end behind a long platform. It features snecked bullnosed rubble construction and a grouted slate roof, with painted stone chamfered window surrounds and red brick chimneys. The gable ends have ornate cusped bargeboards, most of which still have their finials and pendants. The station has a three-bay platform front that is set back under a canopied roof, with cross-frame windows and an entrance offset to the left, situated between the original wall-mounted clock and a window, both with painted architraves. At the southwest end, there is a small enclosed brick yard with a closet.

The stationmaster's house is designed in a 'T'-plan, featuring living rooms in the cross wing and a kitchen in the northwest wing. Each side of the wing has a single-window gable end, and there is a similar gable treatment for the dormer hood over the first-floor window, which is set back to the left. The entrance is enclosed in a more recent porch located in the re-entrant angle with the kitchen wing, which is extended by a small yard. A hand pump stands at the end of this yard.

Inside the station, there is an office and a waiting room. The office retains its original bench and ticket window, along with a cast iron fireplace in the chimney breast.
