Description
Llanbrynmair Railway Station is a single-storey building with an attached two-storey stationmaster's house located at the west end behind a long platform. The station is constructed from snecked bullnosed rubble and features a slate roof along with stone chimneys topped with yellow terracotta pots, while the gable of the house has a red brick chimney. The gable ends and the front gable of the house are adorned with ornate cusped bargeboards, most of which still have their finials and pendants. The station has a four-bay platform front that is set back under a canopied roof, with cross-frame windows and a four-panelled door on the right. The front of the 'L'-shaped stationmaster's house includes an advanced gable with a three-light cross window at the end, and a similar gable treatment is found on the dormer gable of the main range, which is set back on the right. There is a flat-roofed extension attached to the west end of the house. The building was not accessible during the inspection in August 1996.
