Description
Diosg is a late 18th-century stone building with a slate roof. It has two storeys and features a main two-bay range with a lean-to at the upper end and a lean-to stable at the lower gable end. In 1830, Samuel Roberts added a two-bay wing to the front of the upper bay, which is marked by a date stone built into the front wall. The main building includes a boarded door and small pane iron-framed windows, one of which has been replaced. The added wing features 24 and 36-pane iron windows set in timber frames, with large slate lintels above the openings. A slate plaque attached to the front wall by the door reads DYMA GARTREF SR / 1806-1857.
Inside, there is a lobby entry next to the gable stack, leading to a living room that has a spine beam with ogee stops. The inner parlour and a small pantry at the lower end have been combined into a kitchen. The wing, which is said to have been a wine room, contains an inner room behind an axial stack.
