Description

Ashfield Farmhouse is a 2-storey farmhouse constructed with roughcast rubble-stone walls and a slate roof, featuring three stone stacks. The front of the building includes a main house with two windows and a single-unit back kitchen to the left. The entrance of the main house has a panelled door set in a wooden porch on a modern dwarf wall. The windows in the main house are hornless sashes, with a 16-pane window to the right of the entrance and a 12-pane window to the left. The back kitchen also has a similar 12-pane window. The upper-storey windows are all 12-pane hornless sashes, and there is a cellar window beneath the back-kitchen window.

On the left gable end, there is an inserted window in the upper right and a 4-pane horizontal-sliding sash window in the upper left. Adjacent to the left gable end is a lower implement store and granary, which is partly constructed of rubble stone and partly weatherboarded, also under a slate roof. The rear of the house features a central wooden cross window that lights the stair. To the left of this window is a 2-light iron-framed casement window in the upper storey. To the right of centre is an outshut that previously housed the scullery and dairy, with a 2-light iron-framed window on its left side, where the left casement is covered by a mesh. The rear wall of the outshut has a 2-light window, and to the right of the outshut is a lean-to canopy over the boarded back door, which has an inserted window to its right.

The granary extends beyond the rear wall of the main house. The gable end facing the rear features a boarded granary door accessed by a detachable ladder stair, while the opposite gable end has double boarded doors. The property has not been inspected.
