Description
Old House at Cornel is a 1½-storey building constructed of rubble stone, topped with a slate roof that is half-hipped to the right and features a brick chimney stack. The entrance is located to the left of center and is sheltered by a lean-to porch made of weatherboarding. To the right of the entrance, there are two 2-light metal-framed windows and a gabled dormer that contains a 2-light casement window. To the left of the entrance, part of the former cow house has been converted for domestic use, featuring a large metal-framed window set beneath a wooden lintel and a 2-light gabled dormer. The cow house extends further to the left, covered by a corrugated-iron roof, and includes a wide full-height opening with a doorway to the right. A small pantry window is present in the right end wall of the house.
At the rear, there is a short linking wall connecting to the agricultural ranges. This includes a barn on the west side, built of rubble stone and topped with a corrugated-iron roof, and a further range on the south side, of which only the footings remain. The building has not been inspected.
