Description

8 Park Street is a terrace of four cottages, designed as two symmetrical pairs, situated on a site that slopes to the left and faces south towards Park Street. Despite the slope, the entire terrace is covered by one uniform roof, with the left pair featuring about 1 meter of blank stonework between the upper windows and the eaves. The terrace consists of a four-window range made of uncoursed grey shaley stone, with a roof that is partially covered in small random slates but mostly restored, and a tile ridge. Each pair has a short mid chimney made of stone. In the center of the terrace, there is a date-stone that reads 'Wm Evans Proprietor / Ed Roberts On Davies / Masons / Rt Roberts Carpenter / 1834'.

The window openings are approximately square and have segmental stone heads and slate sills. Three of the openings still have their original 12-pane two-light casements. The door of number 7 features a timber lintel, while stone lintels are used elsewhere. Two of the doors have been restored as boarded heck doors.

The terrace also retains a uniform set of front iron railings and gates, accompanied by a low stone wall and stone gate-piers.
