Description

Trigfan is a two-storey house dating from the 19th century, constructed partly of stone and partly of brick. It is connected to irregular rear premises that are also part stone and part brick-nogged timber frame. The building features slate roofs with tile ridges and brick chimney stacks.

The front of the house consists of two sections with a central door. The right section is made of brick and extends forward, while the rest is stone, all painted white. There are 12-pane hornless sash windows aligned above and below on the left, with stone sills and a segmental brick arch over the ground floor window. The door is boarded with a timber lintel. The advancing right section appears to be a later addition for a shop, featuring a 16-pane hornless sash window above without a separate sill or lintel, and a shop window below with 12 large panes, a timber lintel, and a brick sill.

At the rear, the buildings follow the curve of Back Chapel Street as they extend into Park Street, reaching the back of Y Bwthyn. The section closest to the corner is made of brick, with the upper storey rendered, and includes a blocked doorway to the shop on the left and a small window above a blocked window in the curved gable end. To the right, there are two gabled units; the first is constructed of brick, and the second features timber framing above stone. The first gabled unit has a window above a joined door and window, while the second has a two-light mullion window above, with one light containing small panes and the other a sliding light behind a security bar. Below this unit are two modern windows separated by a brick pier.
