Description

9 Park Street, including the railings at the front, is a terrace of four cottages built in 1834. The cottages are arranged as two symmetrical pairs on a site that slopes to the left, facing south towards Park Street. Despite the slope, the entire terrace is covered by a single uniform roof. The left pair features about 1 meter of blank stonework between the upper windows and the eaves.

The terrace consists of four window openings made from uncoursed grey shaley stone, with a roof that is partially covered in small random slates, mostly restored, and has a tile ridge. Each pair of cottages has a short mid chimney made of stone. A date-stone at the center reads 'Wm Evans Proprietor / Ed Roberts On Davies / Masons / Rt Roberts Carpenter / 1834'.

The window openings are approximately square, featuring segmental stone heads and slate sills. Three of the windows still have their original 12-pane two-light casements. The door of number 7 has a timber lintel, while the other doors have stone lintels. Two of the doors have been restored as boarded heck doors.

The terrace also retains a uniform set of front iron railings and gates, accompanied by a low stone wall and stone gate-piers.
