Description

52 & 53 Commercial Street, Penygloddfa, Newtown

3 storey and cellar 4 windows. Flemish bond brick. Gently pitched slate roof, original on No 53. Saw toothed eaves cornice. Brick stack. 2 light casements retaining iron tie bars for lead cames to weaving loft. No 53 retains lead cames to cross windows on 1st floor. Later C19 two light shop window to ground floor. Modern windows to No 52. Original doorcases with simple leaded dripboards on brackets. Original 6 panel door to No 53. Tunnel passage formerly gave access to Pump Court.

No 53 also retains casements to rear with cambered header arches.
