Description
The sundial located in the churchyard of the Church of St Michael is made of Grinshill sandstone and features a tall urn-shaped baluster. The bowl of the sundial is decorated with overlapping leaves and sits on a moulded base, which stands on a circular plinth. At the top, there is a square bronze dial created by Richard Harper of Salop, inscribed with the words 'I steal upon you Richd Bryan Willm Bishop CHURCHWARDENS 17/77' and indicating a latitude of 52 degrees 34 minutes. The gnomon appears to have been installed on site.
