Description

Nantcribba is a house built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with rock-faced stone quoins and dressings. It has slate roofs and stone-dressed brick stacks. The house dates to an unknown period but has architectural features suggesting the late 18th or early 19th century. It is arranged over two storeys and an attic, forming a ‘T’ shape, with the main entrance located in the re-entrant angle, sheltered by a single-storey porch with a flat roof and a stone parapet. The windows are twelve-paned sashes, set within openings with stone lintels featuring tapered, chamfered lower arrises, and stone sills. A canted bay window is a prominent feature of the main drawing room. Round-headed windows are found in the gable ends, serving the attic floor, together with one gabled dormer on the south-east elevation. Some windows were replaced in the late 20th century. A single-storey range of service buildings and a garage extend to the rear, matching the window style and including a part-glazed door. A lead ridge ventilator is present. A 20th-century glazed addition is attached to the south-east side, incorporating a canted bay window within the gable.
