Description
Pontithel House is an early 19th-century house constructed of colourwashed stone and topped with a slate roof. It has two storeys, a basement, and attics, featuring three bays. To the west gable end, there is an attached outbuilding that was converted to accommodation in the late 20th century.
The house has a central six-panelled door set within a timber pilastered doorcase, although the canopy is missing. The ground and first floors have sixteen-paned sash windows, while there is a twelve-pane sash window above the door. All windows have cambered heads and stone sills, and there are gable stacks. The attics feature windows in the gable ends.
The front garden is enclosed by railings and gates that are set on a low wall, following the slope of the ground. The railings consist of looped round-section iron bars threaded through horizontal iron flats, with stanchions topped by pointed finials. There is a central gate and a secondary gate to the left, which includes dog rails.
