Bridge 143 over the Montgomeryshire Canal

Bridge 143 over the Montgomeryshire Canal, built in 1889, is constructed with flat iron beams. The exterior faces of these beams feature a cast inscription that reads "Glanhafren Bridge 143 1889." The bridge has blue brick parapets with recessed panels and chamfered stone copings. There are piers at each end and in the center, all topped with saddleback copings. Between the piers, iron railings with ball finials create open square panels that include circular designs. On the west side, the parapet walls splay outwards and extend for an additional two bays. The flat iron beams rest on splayed brick abutments that have stone copings, which may be earlier features.
