Description
Pont Cynon is a bridge featuring a high elliptical arch with a span of approximately 12 meters. The interior of the arch is constructed of brick, while each side is faced with slate that extends significantly into the arch's interior. The voussoirs have a roughly pecked finish and are integrated into the common stone coursing. A tall keystone is suspended from the string course at the base of the parapet. There is a prominent string course with chiselled margins at both the base of the parapet and at the springing line of the arch. Below this string course, there is a very large stone, and many of the stones display quarry drill marks and lewis holes.
