11 & 12 Commercial Street and Joiner's Court to rear, Penygloddfa, Newtown

3 storey pair of 1 window former back to back houses. Painted English garden wall bond brick. Gently pitched slate roof. Dentilled eaves cornice. Brick end stacks. Shallow 4 pane late C19 sashes to 2nd floor. C19 4 pane sashes to 1st and ground floors. Cambered brick voussoirs, plain reveals, stone sills. Blocked windows to centre at 1st and 2nd floor over tunnel passage. Good small paned iron casements to rear of No 11. Cambered header arches. Doorways with plain doorcases, gabled hoods on brackets, original doors. Round arched tunnel passage entry to centre.

Cobbled court to rear formerly Joiner's Court. Later sunk drains. Range of 3, 2 storey cottages. Painted English garden wall bond brick. Slate roof, dentil eaves cornice. Brick stacks, truncated to right. Decayed 2 light small paned iron casement below eaves to 1st floor. Top left opening light. Cross windows to ground floor; iron opening light. Cambered headed arches shallow reveals, no sills. Doorways offset to right except on right end cottage where it was to left but is now blocked. Cambered header arches. Heavy frame; repaired plank doors. Good rare example of the smaller houses found within the courts.
