Outbuilding immediately to SW of Craffryn

The outbuilding located immediately to the southwest of Craffryn is a one-and-a-half storey structure that features a timber frame resting on a low rubble plinth, with a weatherboarded exterior and a tin roof. It has two boarded doors, along with a shuttered window on the east side and the north gable end.

The building showcases substantial large square-panel wall framing, complete with assembly marks and pegged joints. Inside, there are two rooms separated by a square-panel partition that retains its original wattle and lime plaster infill. The framed partition includes a doorway with a wide boarded door hung on gudgeon pins. In the north room, there is a large axial beam that has a chamfer and scroll stop, along with exposed squared joists. The ends of the beam rest on chamfered posts that extend beyond the wall framing, and the joists are supported by wall bressummers set on chamfered brackets. The south room features a large transverse beam with a chamfer and step draw stop, also with exposed joists. Above, there are three tie-beam trusses with angle braces and a high collar. The north end truss includes a framed opening, which may have originally been for a gable window or a doorway leading to an upper room in a now-lost additional bay.
