Description
The Barn Range at Tregunter Farm dates from the 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of stone, which is whitewashed on the farmyard side, and features a slate roof. The main barn consists of nine bays and includes two driftways with full height doors located in the third and seventh bays. There is a single tier of slit ventilators on each side, although the yard side now has an attached lean-to building made of stone with a corrugated iron roof.
Attached to the north gable of the primary barn is an additional stone barn that has seven continuous bays, featuring a central cartway and full height doors. The primary barn has simple trusses made up of tie beams and principal rafters, with some trusses also incorporating collars. The later barn has three tiers of purlins, while Barn 2 also features tie and collar beam trusses with three tiers of purlins.
