Description

This is a cast-iron milepost located at Waen. It has a rounded top and an angled front. The head of the milepost displays the distance to Shrewsbury as 18 miles. On the left side, it indicates Llanfyllin is 7 miles away, and on the right side, it shows Oswestry is also 7 miles away, each accompanied by an arrow. The foundry mark 'Turner Bros, Newtown' is faintly impressed on the post. It is painted white, with the raised lettering in black.
