Description
22 Long Bridge Street is a two-storey building with a red brick front featuring four windows on each floor, accented by stock brick dressings that include cornice window surrounds and implied quoins. The structure has a stone plinth and a slate roof topped with a central stock brick chimney stack that has twin circular flues and a dentilled neck band. The casement windows are fitted with glazing bars that create central diamond panels and have chamfered reveals. The first floor windows are arranged symmetrically to No 20 and alternately to No 22, while both buildings have entrances on the right side, each adorned with Tudor hoodmoulds and half-glazed doors that match the window design. The left-hand ground floor windows also feature similar hoodmoulds, with the one at No 20 being larger and echoing the mullion and transom design of the central windows of No 22. There is a modern shop front with an architrave at the center of No 20. The rear of the building has been largely modernized, but there is evidence of a timber frame in the center.
Inside No 22, the interior retains massive stop-chamfered beams and a lowered timber lintel above the fireplace.
