Description
Pate Gate is a red sandstone block gateway topped with a carved red sandstone chamfered plinth, which supports a scrolled open pediment. In the center of the pediment is a shield featuring the initials 'PTE 1683', which refer to Thomas and Eleanor Pate. It is likely that the gateway has been reconstructed at its current location.
