Description

28 High Street is a three-storey building constructed of painted brick with a slate roof and end wall stacks. It features a two-window range, with a 20th-century ground floor frontage that is recessed beneath a first-floor balcony. The first-floor windows are floor-height casements with arched heads, set beneath segmental relieving arches. The balcony, which appears to be an early and possibly original feature based on early photographs, has a wrought iron balustrade adorned with decorative circular motifs. The upper windows are four-pane sashes, also with flat arched heads, and they have a continuous sill band. The building is finished with a moulded cornice and a blocking course that includes a central raised panel.
