Description

Bryn Rossett, also known as West View House, is a 2½-storey brick house with three windows, dating from the 18th century. It features a slate roof with sawtooth eaves and has a rebuilt brick stack to the left of the center and an external stack to the right, which is also partially rebuilt. The front slope of the roof has one skylight, while the rear slope has five skylights.

The entrance is located to the right of center and consists of a new half-glazed door set in an original opening, which is sheltered by a new gabled canopy. Flanking the entrance are three-light casement windows with original segmental heads, along with a similar two-light window further to the left. The left gable end includes an inserted half-glazed door in the lower storey, a three-light window in the upper storey, and a two-light attic window. The rear of the house features a two-light window in the lower storey and a one-light window above.

Attached at right angles to the house is a lower two-storey, two-window wing known as Stable House. This separate dwelling is also constructed of brick with a slate roof and has a central brick stack. It includes a half-glazed door on the left under a canopy and three-light casement windows, all with segmental heads.

The house has a three-unit plan. A previous survey noted vernacular details such as an 18th-century staircase and boarded doors, but these have all been removed. The room to the left of the entrance retains a fireplace with a timber lintel, while the staircase to its right has been replaced.
