Description
12 Park Street is a two-storey, four-window building, likely dating from the 18th century. It has a symmetrical front elevation constructed of roughly coursed and squared sandstone rubble with dressed stone quoins. The roof is hipped and slate-covered, with two octagonal stone chimneys. A stone canopy shelters the paired central entrances, though the doors have been altered. The windows are hooded, with ground-floor hoodmoulds that are badly eroded, and upper-floor windows that have been restored. A later porch is on the left-hand return, where paired entrances originally stood. The right-hand return also has paired entrances under a shared stone canopy; the left-hand entrance has been converted into a window. The two original cottages retain their basic plan form, some original stairs, and blocked fireplaces.
