Description
The Old Rectory is a late 18th century, three-storey building featuring a three-window garden front elevation made of red brick in Flemish bond, topped with a slate roof and gable brick stacks. A modern conservatory is present at ground floor level, along with one later window to the left. The first floor shows significant changes in the window arrangement, with three sliding sash windows, likely resulting from a mid-19th century remodeling of the property. The attic storey appears to be a later addition, containing three 18-paned sliding sash windows. To the left, there is a one and a half storey later extension.
The rear elevation facing the road includes a late 17th or early 18th century, two-storey block that was the original structure on the site. This section is probably made of red sandstone rubble, later refaced in red brick and pebbledashed, and also features gable brick stacks and a slate roof. A later door is located in its original position. In the center of the first floor, there is a small window with margin lights, some of which contain colored glass. To the left, a two-storey canted bay constructed of brick and sandstone rubble is present. Originally a single storey with three open arches, it has been modified, with the arches now blocked and the central arch filled by a door. The first floor has two blind windows and one 16-pane sash window.
The interior was not accessible during the inspection in November 1994.
