Description

Poplar House is a three-storey brick building with a rubble rear wall and a slate roof. The entrance front is symmetrical with three windows and features a central doorway. The doorcase has a pediment supported by brackets and includes an overlight above the door. The flanking windows have painted stone flat arched heads and appear to be sashes, although they are boarded over. The window to the left of the doorway has been partially blocked and widened. The upper storeys have similar windows, with 8-pane sashes in the attic storey. The building has a dentilled eaves cornice and truncated end wall stacks. A brick rear wing is a later addition.
