Description
Pen-y-Bryn Welsh Baptist Chapel is a 19th-century building constructed of stucco over brick, featuring stressed angle quoins and a hipped slate roof. The facade is designed to appear as two storeys, highlighted by a wide central porch with a pediment. The main entrance consists of a segmentally arched doorway flanked by pilasters, with narrow round-arched sidelights. A heavy cornice and central pediment accentuate the top of the porch.
On either side of the porch, there are round-arched windows in the main body of the chapel, with similar windows above that are paired and topped with steeply arched hood moulds and incised voussoirs. The first floor has a raised central panel featuring triple round-arched windows with the same detailing, along with blind lunettes above and a date inscription. The building is finished with a heavy modillion cornice and a blocking course. At the rear, round-arched windows are located on either side of a canted projection.
