Description
Old Quay House Inn is a two-storey building with a four-window range, rendered and white-washed over brick, topped with a slate roof that features tile cresting. It has four tall brick ridge stacks with distinctive corbelled caps, two located towards each end of the roof. The entrance is offset to the right and includes a gabled porch covered with slate, supported by narrow timber posts and featuring a cambered tie beam.
The windows are set in raised surrounds with brick sills, primarily consisting of large-pane wooden casements with small upper opening lights. To the left of the entrance, there are three windows, with the far left being a single-light window, and a pair of single-light windows located at the far right. The upper storey is symmetrical, with pairs of windows offset to the left and right, and a long panel in the middle that reads 'Old Quay House'. Between the two left-hand windows is a reset datestone that reads 'EMW/1777'.
The east gable end features a single-storey lean-to with a central two-light window and two small lights at the front, while the west gable end is not visible. The rear, which is partly visible, is constructed of red brick and has casements similar to those on the front. The interior was not seen during the survey.
