Description
Staverton is a two-storey building with a four-window whitewashed brick front, topped by a hipped slate roof at the left end. The first floor features flush frame small pane sash windows, which are horned except for the right window; the outer windows are narrower. There is a recessed half-glazed door next to a broad modern window.
The left end is made of brick and has camber-headed French windows. The building was later extended with a slightly higher Victorian four-bay brick cross range at the rear, which also has a slate roof and brick chimney stacks with cornices. The advanced broad gable has an open pediment treatment, and there is a shallow splayed oriel with small-pane glazing on the upper sashes, similar to the glazing on the garden front, along with a panelled apron over a tripartite sash window below. To the left, there are two first-floor windows and three ground-floor windows, all with cambered heads. A small courtyard is located at the north end, featuring a gable-ended outbuilding on the far side with similar architectural treatment. There is a drive and additional outbuildings to the west.
