Description
The Walled Garden at Talardy Hotel is a Victorian greenhouse, likely built in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It features a prominent central entrance bay with splayed angles at the front, a clerestory with top-hung casement windows, and a hipped high roof adorned with cast iron finials. The front has an arched entrance. On either side, there are catslide glazed roofs, while the rear has a slate roof with brick sides.
The garden is enclosed by earlier 19th century brick walls constructed in English garden wall bond, which include piers and some areas of cement rendering. To the west, the wall extends from the courtyard to the rear of the Talardy Hotel, curving at the northwest corner and continuing along the edge of the garden to the modern Tudor Lodge, which is not of special interest.
