Description
Rose Hill House is a nearly symmetrical, two-storey building with five windows, constructed from rendered brick and featuring a plinth. The roof is renewed slate, with toothed bargeboards on the advanced end and central gabled bays, wide eaves, and a brick chimney stack. The windows are recessed, with 16 panes on the first floor and 12 panes on the ground floor, mostly having lintels, and a brace plate to the right. There is a central lean-to sun-loggia above a pilastered doorcase that was once the main entrance, along with a lean-to and some modern windows at the right end. The left end is gabled with two windows, made of red brick and featuring similar bargeboards and windows. The rear is also two-storey and rendered, with various windows, primarily camber headed, including one small pane sliding sash.
Despite significant alterations, the interior still has panelled shutters in the downstairs rooms and a fine Arts and Crafts glazed tile fireplace in the drawing room. This fireplace represents the months of the agricultural year and features ornate ironwork in the center, adorned with pies and other foliage ornamentation.
