Description
St. Asaph is home to a modern footbridge added to the south (upstream) side. This bridge features five arches of unequal widths and is constructed from gently ramped coursed rubble, accented with golden sandstone dressings that include stringcourses and arch-rings with hoodmoulds. The parapet has stone coping, and there are plain pilasters along the structure. Low pointed cutwaters are present on the upstream side, and decorative iron brace plates are found on the central arch and the arch to the west of it.
On the downstream side, a low rubble wall with coping extends from the parapet at the eastern end, continuing up to the War Memorial. At the western end, the wall curves around the corner and borders the end of The Roe, leading to the entry of the Penybont Clinic.
