Description
Palace Gardens is a two-storey building featuring Flemish bond brickwork and an advanced gabled centre with a pediment that includes a blind roundel. The outer bays project slightly and have a continuous cill band. The building is topped with slate roofs, gable parapets, and a brick chimney stack on the left, along with a stone stack at the rear. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with cambered brick voussoirs. The centre has filled-in segmental-headed coaching entrances with cornices, and there is a half-glazed door to the left.
The rear elevation also has a similar pediment treatment and cill band, with a two-storey, three-window design. The first floor features cambered openings, while the outer windows are small pane sliding sashes. There are tall voussoir arched recesses with a boarded door to the left and paired horned sash windows to the right, along with a blocked window and half-glazed door on either side.
Historically, a water-powered corn mill was located to the west of the building, and the line of the mill race is still visible.
