Description
This building is a two-storey greengrocer's shop with an attic, featuring a three-window rendered main front. To the left, there is a Victorian three-storey, three-window roughcast front that projects forward. The steep slate roofs are topped with end brick chimney stacks. The main front has pitched roof dormers with cills positioned below the eaves level, 16-pane sash windows below, and a tripartite Gothick shop window to the right, which includes pilasters and a cornice. The central section has a flat roof with a parapet, blind side windows, and panels flanking recessed double doors with arched heads. The advanced range features horned sash windows, and there is a segmental coaching entrance to the right end that leads to the rear. A blocked doorway next to the shop front has a double panel door. The left end, which is pebbledash, has pointed window openings with sash glazing and overlooks the parish churchyard.
The main block includes a contemporary cross range at the right rear with a blank gable end, and a parallel range to the left that has a lateral chimney breast, which has been altered at the ground floor.
Inside the main range, a substantial amount of original detail remains, including a dog-leg staircase with a moulded handrail and boarded doors.
