Description
Number 7 Mwrog Street is a Grade II listed building that forms part of a group with number 5. This building features a gabled front that is one-and-a-half storeys high, projecting into the road. It has a lean-to structure against the left-hand return, which is at an angle with number 5, and a lower two-storey wing on the right. The exterior is roughcast and topped with a slate roof, with a brick end stack located on the right side of the wing.
The gabled front includes late 20th-century openings: a wide three-light wooden window on the upper storey, and a ground floor that features a wide projecting flat-roofed shop front, which is offset to the left and partially included within the lean-to. The shop front has a tiled stall board, a plain cornice, and small-pane wooden glazing. It also has an inset glazed door that is offset to the right, with a splayed window on its left side. The wing has a small-pane glazed door on the left and a nine-pane fixed wooden window on the right, with a similar window aligned above.
The west gable end is made of stone and includes a doorway on the right. A high stone wall adjoins the northwest corner and fronts the road; this wall was formerly the front of another building and features a nine-pane fixed window on the left, likely lighting a lean-to, along with further infilled openings that include doorways with segmental heads made of stone voussoirs.
Inside, there is a corner of the jetty from number 5 above the shop counter on the left. It is reported that there are substantial timbers above the false ceiling. The lower wing on the right, which is likely a service unit, contains a red brick fireplace with a segmental brick head that holds a cast iron stove.
