Description

Plas yn Pant is a farmhouse built in the 18th century, featuring a combination of whitewashed roughcast and rubble stone. The building has slate roofs with close eaves and three brick chimneys. It is designed in an L-shape, with two storeys and a loft. The main range runs east to west and includes a large square stone and brick chimney on the ridge to the left of the entrance, along with a smaller brick chimney at the west end.

The northern front has a wing that projects north from the right of the entrance, which includes a brick chimney at its north end. This front features a two-window arrangement of small-paned casement pairs to the left of a half-glazed door. The windows are set on heavy painted stone sills and have painted heads, which may be slab lintels. The northern wing has a closer-spaced two-window range of similar windows facing east, and the north end wall is made of rubble stone and is windowless. The eastern gable of the main range is whitewashed rubble.

On the southern rear wall, there is a large central projecting gable with a date plaque reading "MIK and RIE 1726" to the right, along with a horizontal sliding casement window on the first floor to the left. A lean-to porch with a corrugated iron roof is located on the ground floor to the right. The western end gable has two windows on the ground floor and one horizontal sliding casement above.

At the time of the survey, the building was not accessible, but the position of the chimney just to the left of the entrance may suggest a cross-passage behind it. However, P Smith lists the house as having a lobby-entry plan.
