Description
Stones Farmhouse is a farmhouse, probably dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, dressed on the north-west side, and has a stone slate roof with various stone and brick stacks, including a large stone ridge stack. The building is a single range with a rear lean-to that has a slate roof, and an end range to the north-west that forms a gable end on the left.
The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic. The front features three windows, which are paired 3-pane casements with a timber lintel on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a 3-light casement and a 6-pane sash to the right, both with large flush stone lintels. To the left, there is a plank door with a 19th-century gabled trellis porch. The central hipped dormer has paired casements. It is possible that the building originally consisted only of the north-west wing, as some quoins from the rear corner are still visible in the front wall. The north-west side has a small gable with a 2-light chamfered stone mullion and a 3-light window below, likely from the 19th century. The roof of the main block connects to this wing with a small hip.
