Description
Minffordd is a substantial, three-storey gabled house, likely dating to the 18th century. It is built of squared, coursed limestone blocks, known as Graig stone, with yellow stock brick dressings surrounding the windows and openings. The roof is slate, and it features a red brick chimney with overhanging upper courses. The facade is divided into five bays, with each bay distinguished by a gable above the second-floor window; these gables have plain, replaced bargeboards. A symmetrical three-bay main section is flanked by a two-bay flush section to the right, which incorporates a carriage arch providing access, via a through-passage, to the rear. The carriage arch has a depressed arch shape, a projecting stone key, and boarded double doors.
The central entrance to the main section, located in the second bay, features a Victorian panelled door set beneath a slated porch canopy with decorative scissor-bracing and a finial. Single-storey, canted bays flank the entrance, each with a hipped slate roof and plain sash windows. To the right of the right-hand bay is a plain sash window with a cambered head. Similar sash windows are found on the first floor, with arched sashes on the second floor; projecting sills are present throughout. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
