Description

The War Memorial is constructed from white ashlar and features two short cenotaph pylons that flank a tall central plinth. Atop the plinth stands a statue of a uniformed soldier. The original inscriptions, which commemorate the men from Rhyl who fell in the South African War from 1899 to 1902, are displayed in a raised cartouche on the plinth. The names of those who died in World War I are inscribed on copper plates on the side pylons, while the names of those who fell in World War II and more recent conflicts are listed on the sides of the central plinth.
