Description

Plas Pigot Country Club is an elegant Regency villa built in the early 19th century, featuring two storeys. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with raised stucco quoins and lugged window surrounds. The shallow-pitched, hipped slate roof has deep corbelled eaves and panelled ashlar chimneys. The main elevation faces southeast and includes a broad, storeyed bow with three windows on the left and two additional windows beyond. The ground floor has elegant full-length 15-pane windows, with the right-hand window of the bow and the one immediately beyond now serving as entrances with 20th-century part-glazed doors. The first floor features 9-pane sashes, which are original and unhorned. A fine original verandah extends along this facade, boasting a glazed lean-to roof supported by Regency iron pilasters adorned with open anthemion motifs and decorative scroll-work brackets, along with a stone-flagged pavement.

The southwest elevation facing the road includes a late 19th-century single-storey porch with an arched window at the front, featuring a stucco archivolt. This porch has a flat roof and an entrance to the right, which is contained within a modern brick porch that extends into the angle. There are three original 9-pane sashes on the first floor.

The villa has extensive modern additions to the right and rear, and the interiors have been comprehensively modernised.
