Description
Marbryn is a Regency-style villa featuring two bays and three storeys, constructed of scribed stucco with a hipped roof covered in graded slates, and wide bracketed eaves with a panelled soffit. There is a low rendered chimney stack on the right side. The central doorway is framed by a panelled surround and reveals, leading to half-lit panelled double doors with margin glazing. On both the right and left sides, there are late 19th-century five-sided bay windows, which include moulded wooden mullions topped with foliage caps. A lean-to veranda supported by cast iron posts features a boarded soffit and extends over an additional canted bay on the left side, which has a replaced five-sided window. The upper storey is adorned with 12-pane hornless sash windows.
The right side wall has been altered with changed windows, and a gabled wing has been added to the rear of the villa.
Internally, the layout is centrally planned, with an entrance hall and a separate stair hall located behind it. The open-well staircase features a wreathed handrail, plain balusters, and moulded tread ends.
