Description
33 Russell Road is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed with roughcast render and slate roofs featuring scalloped bands and tiled cresting. The design is symmetrical and includes a six-window range with slightly advanced outer gables that have stressed quoins. The ground floor features rectangular bay windows, which are divided into tripartite sashes by pilasters. A heavy cornice supports cast-iron brattishing.
On the first floor, there are paired windows with four-pane sashes, each topped with stilted arched moulded heads. Broad sill and impost bands extend across the facade, leading to similar windows in the central range, which are arranged as two central pairs with single windows above the doorways. The round-arched doorways have fanlights and are adorned with console brackets supporting the moulding above. The central ground-floor windows are tripartite sashes set within moulded architraves that feature keystones.
The attic windows are round-arched with deep hoodmoulds located at the apex of the gables, which are decorated with scalloped bargeboards and finials. The return elevation facing Church Street has similar window arrangements, including a rectangular bay window on the left.
