Description
This is a two-storey house and former shop, dating from the 18th century. The exterior is of whitened pebble-dashed walls, with a black smooth-rendered plinth, pilasters, quoins, architraves, and a first-floor sill band. The slate roof features brick stacks at the ends, terracotta ridge tiles and finials, and two rear skylights.
The ground floor has rusticated angle pilasters on the right side. A two-light shop window with replacement glazed bars in a margin-glazing pattern above transoms is positioned on the right, splaying to a half-glazed fielded-panel shop door and overlight. Immediately to the left of the shop window is a half-glazed fielded-panel house door, also with an overlight. Both are framed by reed-moulded pilasters, set within a blank fascia with a dentil cornice. A further pair of replacement narrow windows are situated to the left.
On the first floor, gabled windows are located on both the right and left sides, each with a pair of round-headed two-pane sashes. These sashes include key blocks below imitation timber framing, and ridge tiles with a moulded finial. A raised smooth-rendered tablet sits in the centre of the first floor, displaying a repainted sign with a name and date.
The rear of the building has a lower wing on the right-hand side, with replacement windows in what were earlier openings.
