Description
5 Main Street is part of a group of five cottages located at 4, 5, 6, 6A, and 7 Main Street in St George. The cottages are constructed of rubble stonework, which is now painted, and feature slate roofs. Each cottage typically consists of one bay, with a lateral door and a ground floor living room window that has three lights. The upper corners of this window are rounded and it is set beneath a cambered flush relieving arch. On the upper floor, there are two small windows, each with two lights. The cottages have brick stacks on the party walls.
Specifically, No 5 is a double bay cottage, and its ground floor window is paned. The row of cottages is positioned at an angle between Nos 5 and 6. Additionally, the brick stack has been rebuilt to include four linked flues.
