Description
The Park Gates and Gatepiers at the northwest entrance to Kinmel Park are constructed from limestone ashlar. The square gate piers rise to a moulded necking and a dentilled cornice, topped with stilted ball finials. Each pier features incuse panels displaying the Hughes mantled and crested arms, impaled with Ravensworth. Brackets on the outer face of the piers extend down to the corniced high wing walls on either side. The southwest wing wall concludes with a similar but shorter pier, also topped with a ball finial, while the northeast wing wall is pierced for a pedestrian gate, located near the portico of the lodge. The gates are made of iron and feature a tall overthrow. The inner face of the piers is adorned with sunflowers.
In front of the lodge, outside the gates, there is a rectangular area defined by rubble stone walls that end in low piers.
